Dynamic Kit Simulated In-Flight Testing on the Ground

The Dynamic Kit expands Dynotis’ scope from static testing to dynamic flight simulation. By incorporating anemometers for wind speed and direction, the kit allows the propulsion system under test to experience real inflow conditions while mounted on a moving platform such as a vehicle or test cart.

Benefits include:
– Fixed-wing analysis: measure propeller performance at typical cruise speeds (e.g., 15–25 m/s) to ensure maximum efficiency where the UAV spends most of its time.
– Multicopter analysis: simulate translation at 5–10 m/s to verify that hover-optimized propellers remain effective during forward motion.
– Advance ratio coverage: extend testing beyond J = 0 to generate curves that are normally only available from wind tunnel experiments.
– Directional accuracy: account for crosswinds or off-axis inflows that can degrade performance.

This makes the Dynamic Kit a practical and cost-efficient substitute for wind tunnels, giving UAV developers in-field access to crucial in-flight performance data.
